Kevin Dobler | Since he was a young child, Kevin Dobler has been captured by the world of fantasy and imagination. Always sitting alone reading and drawing pictures Kevin can recall the first time he realized that the two could be combined,
"When I was young, I was given The Sword of Shannara, illustrated by the Brothers Hildebrandt. It was like a light going off in my head - I could read the story and I could see it as well, on paper and not just in my mind.
I knew that was what I wanted to do, make pictures that had stories in them." Like most artists Kevin drew and painted all through school, during the times he shouldn't have been. "I guess I was the cliché, sitting in the
back of the class doodling in the margins of every notebook I had." After
two years of two different Community Colleges in New Jersey, (switching after he took all of the art courses he could) Kevin knew that art was something he wanted to do seriously. With a couple of published pieces that he hopes will "vanish into the void forever," Kevin continued his schooling. Graduating the Joe Kubert School of Cartoon Graphics and Illustration in 2000, Kevin has been working as a freelance artist and graduate designer
since his senior year there. He has done paintings for each of the Wizards of the Coast Harry Potter card sets. He likes sunsets, long walks on the beaches and hot dogs with cheese on them...
In emptiness there is good but no evil. Wisdom exists, logic exists, the Way exists, mind is empty.
The Book of Five Rings - Miamoto Musashi, 1645
