Description: This gorgeous piece of art is a painting from the 1977 Tolkien Calendar, which was painted by Greg and Tim Hildebrandt. This image, Faramir, was painted for the month of June.
In this scene Faramir, the kind and noble warrior, has discovered the hobbits Frodo Baggins and Samwise Gamgee. During a battle with Southrons, Faramir and his men have just found the hobbits, who are currently unsure of whether or not they are going to have to fight for their lives!
A painting like this captures the beauty of Middle-Earth, the nobility of Faramir, and the danger and bravery of Frodo and his dear friend, Samwise. This is perfect combination of imagination, fantasy, and suspense!
This painting was signed by Greg and Tim Hildebrandt prior to Tim's death in 2006. We are selling this painting on consignment for one of our collectors. This painting has not been available for sale since the 1980's!
