Description: Pencil on Paper. This is an unused sketch for the 1970s J.R.R. Tolkien Calendars. Created by Greg Hildebrandt and Tim Hildebrandt *Over the past 26 years the fragile paper that this sketch was created on has been slightly damaged. It has aquired a few wrinkles that have been straightened, however this does not decrease its value. If you have any questions regarding this please contact the gallery. Greg dug into his archives to find the few remaining Tolkien sketches that he owned in 2000 when Spiderwebart began to design the Tolkien art of The Brothers Hildebrandt art book, published by Watson-Guptill. This sketch may have some tears in it, but that in no way takes away from its beauty. The computer image does not do this drawing justice. This sketch was signed by Tim prior to his death in 2006. |
