Description: Pencil on Tissue Paper. This is on of the initial concept sketches for the Wedding of the King Painting. It was later revised to what you actually saw in the 1977 Tolkien Calendar. Greg dug into his archives to find the few remaining Tolkien sketches that he owned in 2000 when Spiderwebart began to design the Tolkien art of The Brothers Hildebrandt art book, published by Watson-Guptill. This sketch may have some tears in it, but that in no way takes away from its beauty. The computer image does not do this drawing justice. Signed by Greg Hildebrandt and Tim Hildebrandt. |
