Description: Preliminary sketch for an unused design of the Tower of Orthanc painting. Greg dug into his archives to find the few remaining Tolkien sketches that he owned in 2000 when Spiderweb Art began to design the "Greg and Tim Hildebrandt: The Tolkien Years" art book, published by Watson-Guptill. This sketch may have some tears in it, but that in no way takes away from its beauty. The computer image does not do this drawing justice. Dating back to the 1970's this is one of the few collectible pieces of Tolkien art reflecting the creative process of the Brothers Hildebrandt. It is a rare and beautiful treasure! This sketch was signed by Greg & Tim Hildebrandt prior to Tim's death in 2006. Art size - 20" x 14" Matted size - 25" x 20" |
