Description:
An original sketch from 1978 by Greg Hildebrandt and Tim Hildebrandt. This sketch shows Gandalf, Aragon, King Theoden and the Riders of Rohan. It was created by Greg and Tim for what would have been a fouth Tolkien calendar. They decided not to do another one.
Greg dug into his archives to find the few remaining Tolkien sketches that he owned in 2000 when Spiderwebart began to design the Tolkien art of The Brothers Hildebrandt art book, published by Watson-Guptill. This sketch may have some tears in it, but that in no way takes away from its beauty. The computer image does not do this drawing justice.
This sketch was signed by Greg & Tim Hildebrandt prior to Tim's death in 2006.
