Description: This is the original scene painted to depict the epic battle for Minas Tirith for the original 1970's Tolkien calendars. All of the armor in this scene was actually built by Greg and Tim in their studio! The two brothers loved to create as much authenticity as they could in their paintings, so in order to achieve this they built the costumes out of cardboard and paper maché. Then they called some friends and dressed them up! Every new painting was an experience for the Brothers Hildebrandt, and their friends!
