Description:
This is one of the original concept sketches from the Seventies. This was to be the cover for the fourth Tolkien Calendar that was never made.
Greg dug into his archives to find the few remaining Tolkien sketches that he owned in 2000 when Spiderwebart began to design the Tolkien art of The Brothers Hildebrandt art book, published by Watson-Guptill. This sketch may have some tears in it, but that in no way takes away from its beauty. The computer image does not do this drawing justice.
This sketch was Signed by Greg and Tim Hildebrandt prior to Tim's death in 2006
