Description: This beautiful new pinup titled, 'Fill Her Up,' is #53 in Greg Hildebrandt's American Beauties Series. Some of us, not all of us, remember Mobil Gas. Those were the days when you pulled in for gas and they washed your windshield. Greg's homage to the pegasus that was Mobil's logo in the 50s and 60s is a wonderful, vintage style American pinup.
Mobil was originally founded in 1911, though it was initially known as Standard Oil Company of New York. Since the 1930’s Mobil has incorporated the Pegasus into its iconic logo, and to this day it is a powerhouse in the world of fuel. Greg remembers the days of the classic gas pumps and kind, uniformed gas station attendants–you know, the days when they used to wash your windshield? He remembers the evolution of cars and the changes in the world of fuel and efficiency.
This pin up combines boyish imagination and the fantasy of a gorgeous woman who is ready to service all of your automotive needs! Greg has even included the iconic 1954 Mobilgas Special fuel pump. As Mobilgas used to advertise, how would you like “A Tune-Up in Every Tankful?”
Signed by Greg Hildebrandt Acrylic on canvas. Created December 2009 IMAGE AREA: 35” x 41” FRAMED SIZE: 29” x 38.5”
8x10 and 13x19 glossy photo prints and Giclées are also available of this.
Giclée reproductions are created by tiny jets spraying millions of droplets of oil-based printing ink onto a sheet of fine art paper. This spray of ink, more that 4 million droplets per second, whirls onto paper spinning on a drum at 250 inches per second. Hence the name giclée, French for "fine spray."
As with all of our products, lay-a-way plans are always available.
