Tin Lighted flashing signs were the rage to get the word out to everyone on a new style. This sign was originally a rare opaque backlit sign. In 1915 Irene Castle started the Hair Bobbing rage known as the “Castle Bob”. It was a crazy shift… since long luxurious hair was the style to die for since the onset of ladies fashions! But the hair style helped the roaring twenty era Flappers have more time for fun!
Each tin sign is designed and made in the United States using 24 gauge American steel and a process known as sublimation, where the image is baked into a powder coating for a durable and long lasting finish. A vintaging process is then performed by hand to give these signs an aged look and feel. Each sign is drilled and riveted for easy hanging. All you need is 2 nails and a hammer!
Based on actual barber shop and shoeshine imagery.
