Greenback smoking tobacco, as smooth as frog’s hair. This image is from an original 1890’s watercolor painting, no doubt intended to become a sign for Marburg Brothers Tobacco. The painting had a trimmed chromo heliograph label from a tobacco pouch glued onto the painted image. Most likely painted by an artist at A. Hoen & Co. in Maryland who did Greenbacks chromo-lithographic work. Fabulous fantasy toadstool barbershop with the frogs giving a shave & a haircut. Everyone luvs a smooth frog! Metal sign adds some humor to your collection.

Each tin sign is designed and made in the United States using 24 gauge American steel and a process known as sublimation, where the image is baked into a powder coating for a durable and long lasting finish. A vintaging process is then performed by hand to give these signs an aged look and feel. Each sign is drilled and riveted for easy hanging. All you need is 2 nails and a hammer!

Based on actual barber shop and shoeshine imagery.
