Day & Martin Ltd was London’s oldest & favorite Leather & Boot Blacking, established in 1770. The Just Out Polish Tin, with small chick hatching from egg was introduced about 1909. Tin sign came from an original cardboard hanging sign, (fan hanger), which displayed the Boot Polish Tin & Sealed Polishing Cream Jar. Metal sign is great addition to any collection.
Each tin sign is designed and made in the United States using 24 gauge American steel and a process known as sublimation, where the image is baked into a powder coating for a durable and long lasting finish. A vintaging process is then performed by hand to give these signs an aged look and feel. Each sign is drilled and riveted for easy hanging. All you need is 2 nails and a hammer!
Based on actual barber shop and shoeshine imagery.
