Batman is the vigilant man of Gotham. Greg uses his pencil to carve heavy shadows into Batman's cowl creating sharp hard edges that conform to Batman's rough appearance and facial structure. Greg plays with lighting by having Batman disappear into the shadowed background and into the night. to To emphasis the serious nature of the vigilante, Batman's jaw is taught, baring his teeth and tensing his eyes into focus. Focusing on protecting the city and on protecting the innocent.
