Description: First appearing in the Marvel comic, Strange Tales #110, the brilliant, bright, and arrogant doctor had his life and passion as a surgeon taken away from him in a single instant. His hands were destroyed in a car accident leaving the surgeon left with nothing but broken hands, fingers, and a crushed ego. Searching all over the world for medicine and a miracle he comes across the Ancient One. He becomes one of the old Sorcerer Supreme's students and later on takes on the title of Sorcerer Supreme himself. During this time Doctor Strange obtains the Cloak of Levitation and the Eye of Agamotto to add to his powers.
Strange has had a sporadic presence through out the comic universe. From being featured in "The Human Torch", to being a part of the well known Defenders. Doctor Strange continues his career as a hero appearing in the early 2000's issues of The New Avengers to fight future threats. Recently, Doctor Strange is featured, for the first time in 16 years, in a solo series.
Greg's beautifully complex black board is a blend of magic and sorcerey. Greg renders Doctor Strange standing powerfully, with his once weak hands raising up to vanquish a creature that is out of our view. This piece is filled with wispy textures that whirl and surround Doctor Strange to admire and marvel at.
