Description:
Matt Murdock, otherwise known as Daredevil, roams the streets as the masked vigilante in Hells Kitchen. He fights crime and keeps the city safe. Matt however, has an even bigger battle to fight. That battle doesn’t exist in ally ways, it doesn’t have an ax, and it doesn’t have a gun. It constantly lingers around and watches Matt each and every time he becomes the Devil of Hells Kitchen. Watching, judging, and tormenting him with each punch and kick Matt throws. The battle rages between Matt himself and his beliefs.

Matt has a strong sense of law and justice. Yet he chooses to walk the line between right and wrong. Good and evil torment and fight inside him. He often plays devils advocate in the court room and on the streets for himself. By doing so he chooses to keep his enemies alive and prefers to defeat them rather than to kill. A question he continually asks himself and a question comic book fans ask, is the fight for his own redemption or is it for the good of the city?

This is a sketch Greg had created that was inspired by Daredevil's complex character. The imagery represents the sacrifice and daily crucifixion Daredevil puts himself through. Greg was also inspired and fascinated by the idea of good and evil and the mythology of Angels and Devils. This fascination grew and grew and manifested itself into this intricate and impactful piece.
