Description:
First created in 1930 to be a simple radio promotion voice for Street and Smith Publications, the Shadow was so well liked that he became the star of his own show! In 1931 he was given his own publication called, The Shadow Magazine, and by 1937 he had his own radio show! This lead to the famous quote that everyone knows so well:

"Who knows what evil lurks in the hearts of men? The Shadow knows!"

The Shadow is considered to be the character that helped define the superhero archetype. He was stylized, had sidekicks, faced super villains, and possessed a secret identity. Like some modern day heroes, he preferred to stick to the shadows and darkness where he would terrify his enemies under the cover of night!

In this powerful, high impact black board illustration, Greg has expertly captured the mystery, action, and adventure that is such an impressive part of the Shadow, one of pop culture’s most beloved heroes!

Created in August 2017.
