If you’re looking for a painting from Greg Hildebrandt, his paintings are done in acrylic paint on canvas. Acrylic paint dries very quickly, which is one of the things Greg loves most about it, but the fast drying time can be more challenging when blending delicate features like skin. BLACK BOARD COMMISSIONS

There are many people who have asked us, “What is a Black Board?” We’re happy to answer that question! Greg draws and paints on black illustration board. Many artists use illustration board because it is much sturdier than paper, and can handle many different artistic mediums. When Greg creates a black board, he uses pencil, colored pencil, and acrylic paint to create the effects he desires. These are very beautiful unique pieces of art. SKETCH COMMISSIONS

Every new idea starts with a sketch. Sometimes a painting is born of that sketch. Sometimes the sketch becomes a finished piece of art. While some of the sketches we sell on our gallery are drawn on bond/computer paper, when Greg does a commission, he does NOT draw on this paper. Finished sketch commissions are only drawn on quality illustration papers – this includes tonal (colored paper). Greg chooses these quality illustrations papers so your art will last longer and have a more finished look. The timeframe for a commissioned sketch depends on the size and complexity of the art.
